Back at College

Back to college today. Morning was a module on the book of Jeremiah and the afternoon a module entitled 'Evangelicalism in Britain'. Both seem quite good if day one is anything to go by who knows perhaps they will spark some blog subjects!

Kind of Silly, Kind of Sad.

I started watching the whole whale story evolve on sky news yesterday. It got me thinking how stupid this was, of all the tradgedies happening around the world, here we were focussed upon a whale swimming in the Thames. Yet as I watched today somehow the story, the whale, the drama drew me in. I was rooting for the whale to make it, to survive against all odds. Swimmining up the Thames yesterday it must have had no idea how, for a short time it would bring people together, their differences put to one side, their busy lives stopped.

Together hoping for something better, perhaps for the whale, perhaps deep down within themselves, they longed for a world where this was all that mattered. A world where caring was more important than always being right and the welfare of others more important than having all you desire.

‘The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God has come near; repent, and believe in the good news.’

Swim free, swim deep and may God bless all our dreaming till God's kingdom comes for good.

Naffed Off

Meant to be going out however, friends we were going out with had to cancel through no fault of theirs. We though had changed original plans to fit in with them. I hate it when that kind of thing happens cause I spend the rest of the night sulking and feeling sorry for myself. Oh well i'm off to whine to anyone who will listen......... Millie here girl, that's a good dog!

On the Bandwagon

Chose this only because Sky used it to end the play off finals when City beat Gillingham in 99 need I say more!

Derby Day Joy

Today was the 145th Manchester derby yet another heroic City victory. The atmosphere was great for once and a good time was had by all(well the blue half anyway). Much excitement in our house upon returning from the game so much so even the dog (newly converted to city and football) joined in the fun.

Dog Collars But Hopfully No Rabbit Corpses!

Well we have been thinking about it for a long time now and finally we reached a decision. Tuesday saw us go to the dogs home a get a dog. We have called her Millie she is a German shepherd cross and has a lovely nature. She does however take an overly keen interest in the rabbits. Now whilst I'm not fond of the two black rabbits even I would not wish them to be savaged by the dog. I have however considered leaving the book of bunny suicides in their hutch in the hope they may pick up some tips.

Dog walking is fun and I am hoping it may speed up some weight loss (for me not the dog). Funny how you can live in an area but need a dog to find a legitimate excuse to wonder round for a good old nosy. Any way dog is here roll on those cold wet dog walking nights mmmm can hardly wait!!!!

Doh

So there goes my first New Year resolution

1. Blog daily!

Not going to share anymore because believe it or not ritual humiliation has never been my thing (now now Liz).

I was reminded by K last night about my blogging habits of late "do you know the last time you blogged was November" well yes actually I did and was kind of trying to forget it.

The problem is finding a title to match the events of the day. No honest I’m telling the truth give me a title and I’m away. Hey perhaps people could suggest a whole load of titles for me and then all I need to do is blog using or making reference to the title somewhere in the blog. It could be a whole new on line word game.

Let me give you an example of my problem. I went with Liz and K to see Rufus Wainwright back in December, had a great blog title "Oh what a world" reference to a Rufus track for the uninitiated, and lo and behold Liz pinches it, hence the blog never happened. Still I'm going to post a picture well one of Liz's pictures anyway just to make the point that the distinct lack of heads in front of us is down to us being on row C. Hello to anyone sat behind us hope you enjoyed from far away.

So now you know my problem, it’s not that I don't want to share news or thoughts or indeed that I have none to share it’s just down to a small matter of a title. I promise to try harder though I guess I have made them before so I think it is a case of watch and wait. Blast an advent blog title and I'm too late oh well there's one stored for next year, hang on though with some adaptation I could use it at Easter mmmmmm!
